Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone...

I just picked up the revised relaunch of Neon Genesis Evangelion...
Tokyo-3 still stands after most of civilization was decimated in the Second Impact. Now the city endures the ceaseless onslaught of the deadly Angels, bizarre creatures bent on eradicating the human race. To combat this strange and ruthless enemy, the government agency NERV constructs a fleet of towering humanoid machines - the Evas - and Shinji Ikari is called into action, reluctantly taking his place at the controls of Eva Unit 01.

Living a life of loneliness and questioning his existence, Shinji struggles to accept responsibility for mankind's battle for survival. Shinji will fight the Angels alongside the only person who might understand his plight: Rei Ayanami, the elusive and frail pilot of Eva Unit 00. Shinji and Rei will struggle to learn a simple truth: when carrying the burden of humanity's survival on your shoulders, you are not alone.

According to Reichu, a contributor to the EvaGeeks forum concerning the differences between 1.01 and 1.11:
1.01 - DVD version. Some alterations from theatrical version that barely anyone will notice. Really dark, hard to see night scenes.
1.11 - BD version. New scenes added. Picture brightened.
I had considered performing a more detailed comparison, but, EvaGeeks have already completed a side-by-side comparison highlighting the differences between 1.01 and 1.11. Although, it appears that quite a number of images are missing, EvaGeeks will still get the win.

Based on the 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone features a similar storyline of the first three volumes of the original with updated sound and images. My favorite angel is still Ramiel, who gets a serious upgrade in the relaunch. The revised relaunch includes additional content that expands upon the story-line a bit and some enhancements of the existing content. Even though, the story is essentially the same as the original and the initial relaunch (1.01), I'm still very pleased with the revised relaunch (1.11). In the special features, there is a preview of the second part of the relaunch (Evangelion 2.0) and I must say that it looks really, really good.
