Sands Of Destruction...

Sands Of Destruction spoke to me and said "buy me", so I did...
Morte is a lonely beauty with an axe to grind and a grudge against the world. Her brother died in the war between men and beasts, and now, she's out to make everyone pay for her loss. That's where Kyrie comes in. This wandering cook may hold the key to unlocking the Destruct Code: a mysterious orb capable of eradicating everything in existence. The fate of the world hangs in the balance, but these heroes are up to no good.
In Sands Of Destruction, we follow the exploits of Morte as she traverses the sea of sand looking for a way to destroy the world. As a result of Morte's desire to destroy the world and her propensity for violence, Morte has earned the name World Destruction Committee. During the course of Morte's travels, Morte happens to cross paths with Kyrie, a happy-go-lucky cook and Toppy, a miniature bear and a member of the Heroes Guild. Unfortunately, for Kyrie and Toppy, due to circumstances beyond their control, they become unwilling members of the World Destruction Committee. And, as if that weren’t bad enough, the World Salvation Committee will stop at nothing to capture and if necessary, kill the members of the World Destruction Committee.

Throughout Sands Of Destruction, the World Destruction Committee travels to various continents (each continent is apparently named after a season), seemingly according to the will of a mysterious orb called the Destruct Code. Along the way, the World Destruction Committee try their best to stay out of trouble (and fail at every opportunity) and do the occasional good deed. Meanwhile, the World Salvation Committee seems to cause more than its fair share of trouble while trying to hunt down the World Destruction Committee. Sands Of Destruction is a comedy adventure with much of the comedy coming at the expense of the World Salvation Committee.

Sands Of Destruction builds to a wonderful climax as the World Salvation Committee seems to splinter into competing factions, each with their own agendas, and each in a race to obtain the Destruct Code. All the while, it seems that Morte might actually succeed in destroying the world. As the various factions of the World Salvation Committee fall over each other in an effort to see who will be in a position to destroy the world first, there is a bit of a twist in the latter episodes. The series has a lot of gun play and sword-swinging, but, is remarkably bloodless. Likewise, there are no naughty bits or even fan service to speak of. Overall, Sands Of Destruction was fast paced, engaging and a lot of fun to watch. I was able to see the entire series in one sitting. I would give Sands Of Destruction a 4 out of 5.
