Happy!...

On the SyFy Channel, around the time that I noticed Alien News Desk, I also happened to notice Happy!...
Prostitution, sodomy and casual sex are frequently suggested throughout Happy!, but, aside from a handful of bare man bottoms, a couple of bare man chests and a man naval, there is really not much to see in this department. So, although, there isn't much left to the imagination, there are no actual naughty bits. In general, drug use is mentioned in the series, but, is not a key aspect of the series. Abuse of children, however, is a key theme in the series and there is one incident, in particular, in which the aftermath is suggested, but, nothing is actually shown or even stated. Nonetheless the implications are horrific, to say the least.
I've seen the entire first season of Happy! three times and for the most part, the entire first season tells a fairly complete story. There are a handful of loose ends at the end of the first season, but, there is a fairly complete story. Of course, the flying blue imaginary unicorn, is what lifts Happy! out of the realm of a typical drama involving the search for a missing child. The rapport between Nick and his new-found unicorn partner, Happy, is priceless. In addition, there are a wealth of deliciously evil people doing horrible things. The story is compelling and engaging. I couldn't NOT watch Happy!. The series turned out to be one of my guilty pleasures. Overall, I would give Happy! a 5 out of 5.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the first season of Happy!, now that the second season is upon us, I think it's time to just walk away from Nick and Happy for the time being. I'm very pleased with the outcome of the first season and I don't want to ruin the good vibe just yet, if the second season turns out to be not as good as the first. It took a bit longer than I would have liked to track down the episodes in the first season, but, ultimately, I did get the first season of Happy! added to the archive.
Although, unicorns and rainbow sprinkles abound in Happy!, the younger unicorn fans among us should definitely stay away. Happy! is a dark comedy that follows Nick Sax as he kills his way through the seedy underbelly of the criminal underworld in an effort to rescue a young girl kidnapped by a deranged Santa. Throughout Happy!, there are copious amounts of bloodshed and gore including stabbings, shootings, torture and other sundry forms of holiday-themed mayhem.Nick Sax is a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit man who is adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, and betrayal. After a hit goes wrong, Nick finds a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous killer on the loose. But his world is about to be changed forever by a tiny, imaginary, blue-winged horse with a relentlessly positive attitude named Happy. On their journey, they must contend with a laundry list of enemies including angry mobsters, ex-mistresses, ex-wives, and one very bad Santa.

My life is an ever-swirling toilet that just won't flush.
