Butter Battle Book...

According to Ben Reyes of Capital Arts Productions, the production company behind the short:
The Butter Battle Book, Dr. Seuss's classic cautionary tale, introduces us to the important lesson of respecting differences. The Yooks and Zooks share a love of buttered bread, but animosity brews between the two groups because they prefer to enjoy the tasty treat differently.
[This is] a short trailer created for the Ottawa Public Library. It's a live action rendition of Dr Seuss' allegory to the Cold War: The Butter Battle Book. It also pays homage to Dr Strangelove. A huge thank you goes out the Diefenbunker for letting us film in their facility! ...The wall is part of a picture that I photoshopped into a bigger wall, and then using motion tracking software I was able to composite it into the shot.In the aftermath of my Adventures In Microsoft Access, I was researching various titles in my collection to reconstruct missing and incomplete meta data needed for the next version of the Movie List. The Movie List is a comprehensive database of all of the DVDs in my collection. The current iteration of the Movie List is a hefty PDF file designed for phone-friendly browsing and weighs in at well in excess of 2000 pages.
The trailer for the Butter Battle Book is set in Diefenbunker, an actual Cold-War era bunker originally intended for use by the Canadian government and is now a museum. When I saw the trailer, I was actually quite impressed with look of the short film. Later, while poking around the Capital Arts Production site, I came across Ben Reyes' profile page where one visitor commented that he was not a fan. ☹️ Well, Ben, I am a fan. 😍 So, of course, I had to share. Enjoy.
