Here Is Greenwood...

In the not so early days on the U.S. anime industry, Software Sculptors released the VHS version of Here Is Greenwood...
Volume 1
Thou Shalt Love Thy Daily Life
Meet Kazuya Hasukawa - he's just a regular teenager who wants to live a normal, peaceful life. But when his first love marries his older brother and moves into their house, Kazuya decides that he has to move out to preserve his sanity!

Nagisa Hyper-Rhapsody
Things go from bad to worse when he discovers he's been assigned to the strangest dorm on campus -- an asylum called "Greenwood" -- where all the weirdos, outcasts, and lunatics at the prestigious Ryokuto Academy reside. Experience life at Greenwood, where nothing is ever as it seems, especially the people. Can Kazuya and his classmates survive the insanity? Be sure not to miss any of the bizarre, but heart-warming episodes of Here is Greenwood.

Volume 2
The Making of Here is Devilwood
As Ryokuto Academy prepares for its annual school festival, the residents at Greenwood are planning the unthinkable -- they're making a movie! Directed by Tochizawa, and starring Mitsuru, Shinobu, Kazuya, and Shun, Here is Devilwood may not win an Academy Award, but if they are voted as the winning group, they'll be able to throw the biggest party the dorm has ever had!

The Phantom of Greenwood
Once the school festivities are over, terror strikes Greenwood -- Mitsuru is being haunted by a teenage ghost named Misako. She soon makes everyone's life a complete nightmare as she gives the guys at Greenwood some 'supernatural' love! But before she passes on to the next world, her only wish is to possess Shinobu's body and kiss Mitsuru! Will it happen?

Volume 3
Second Love... Always Be With You act 1
Greenwood is in turmoil when a mysterious girl suddenly appears late one night. Mistaken as a gang leader, she's on the run from a rival gang of girl thugs and begs Mitsuru to let her stay at the dorm.

Second Love... Always Be With You act 2
Acting as the new dorm president, Kazuya decides to help the endangered girl and falls in love with her soon after. The problem: Miya has been involved with another boy for the last ten years! Will Kazuya once again come between yet another relationship or has he found true love? There's only one way to find out!
Here Is Greenwood is strange, but, worth a peek. My favorite episode is Nagisa Hyper-Rhapsody. I used to have all three subtitled VHS volumes. I liked the series enough, that I repurchased it on DVD. There are no naughty bits or gore to speak of. Here Is Greenwood is more of a slice-of-life drama with comedic undertones. I gave Here Is Greenwood a 3 out of 5. If you look carefully at the cover art, you'll see the NOT MAINSTREAM mark in the lower-right corner of the box.
