From Old Country Bumpkin To Master Swordsman...
Recently I watched the first season of From Old Country Bumpkin To Master Swordsman...
Beryl's life becomes more complicated when he adopts an orphan and at the same time, more and more of his former female students just happen to stop by, vying for his attention. Events escalate and reach a dramatic and violent climax. There is a modest amount of red ink, but, the series is not overly gory. Although there are many beautiful women competing for his attention, there are no naughty bits. I gave From Old Country Bumpkin To Master Swordsman a 3 out of 5.
I was reasonably satisfied with the first season, but, now that there is a second season, I'm not feeling the need to venture back out into the fray. By the way, both covers are fake. At the time of this writing, there doesn't appear to be a physical U.S. release.
I have a soft spot for older male protagonists and Beryl, our local old guy, doesn't disappoint. Beryl is out in the middle of nowhere doing his own thing, when he gets called upon to train a new batch of fighters and hang out with some of his former students in the process. Beryl gradually finds himself awash with intrigue in the big city as dark forces begin to make their presence known around him.Season 1
Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed humble old man, is a sword instructor at his dojo in a rural, backwater village. In his younger years, he dreamed of glory as a master swordsman, but those days are long behind him. Out of the blue, he receives a visit from a famous former pupil who brings him news--he's been appointed as a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order! With his life now turned upside down, Beryl travels to the capital and reunites with some of his former students. What does fate have in store for Beryl?Season 2
Beryl Gardenant, a swordmaster from the countryside, is settling into his new life as a special instructor for the Royal Order of Knights and the guardian of an orphan. A peaceful life is not in the cards, however, and Beryl is confronted with new obstacles. At the magic institute, in his hometown, at the kingdom's border, away in a foreign land... It's time for Beryl to face new battles.
I was reasonably satisfied with the first season, but, now that there is a second season, I'm not feeling the need to venture back out into the fray. By the way, both covers are fake. At the time of this writing, there doesn't appear to be a physical U.S. release.
