Koe de Oshigoto...

Recently, I picked up Koe de Oshigoto...
When 16-year-old high school student Kanna Aoyagi's older sister encourages her to become an adult video game voice actress, Kanna is hesitant. After thinking about all the things her sister has done for her, and how much she owes her, Kanna finally agrees. But can a high school student who knows nothing about adult video games really do the job?
According to Anime News Network:
North American anime distributor Media Blasters reported on Friday that the second batch of its Koe de Oshigoto! DVD release has an error where the DVD would go back to the menu at the end of each chapter. Media Blasters is offering to replace affected DVDs if customers send their DVDs back to the company. The first batch of the DVDs has no reported problems.
Guess what? Lucky me. I'm in the second batch... I've actually seen both episodes. Even with the annoying glitch, I'm quite pleased with the show. By the way, to watch the show with the glitch, it's best to start from the scenes sub-menu. First off, although, an effort has been made to obscure some of the more graphic elements in the series, the overall tone of Koe de Oshigoto indicates that it is clearly not intended for the younger anime fans among us -- hence its 17 and Up label.

Koe de Oshigoto is basically a short (about one hour) situation comedy revolving around a high school student, Kanna, providing some of the voices and sound effects for adult video games. Kanna's main concerns are the embarrassment involved in the work itself and not being perceived by her classmates and friends as a pervert. Koe de Oshigoto is a sweet and at times raunchy peek at the world of voice acting. Be forewarned, if you're looking for naughty bits, they're not very well hidden, but, they are obscured. This is clearly not your typical H title and may not be for those looking for a more conventional H title. Despite, the technical issues with the DVD, I enjoyed Koe de Oshigoto and would give it a 4 out of 5.

Just wanted you to know that we brought the authoring back in-house and have corrected the issues with Koe and SRW. To play it safe we are destroying old inventory we have on the factory and getting new batches. Some of you have already sent in your discs and they will get replaced.

Honestly trying to figure out what to do cause I have about all of 20 copies here to return and not getting many re-orders anyway so I was thinking of just doing one offs for you folks but maybe it could help sales if we correct it. Even less returns on SRW and that has been reordering quite well. We will update you.

Update

While there has been no *official* word on the Koe de Oshigoto replacement discs since August 2014, recently, Media Blasters did mention praise for Koe de Oshigoto on their Facebook page:
With Media Blasters looking to get back on track this past year, they worked through a lot of issues – and missed release dates – but managed to get a few released out into the marketplace...
Fandom Post lists Koe de Oshigoto as one of Media Blaster's top five titles of 2014:
[Koe de Oshigoto] was the only release I hadn’t seen that they put out, but I’ll give it the #2 spot simply because it is a previously unreleased title. Normally it would take the top spot in a list like this, but….

Color me stunned and amazed...

OK...post not about adult anime....

Good news in that we finally started the work on the SRW Collection and Disc 5 has been corrected and for all of you have sent in the bad disc we are going to send you out a copy of the full collection. I just feel that is the right thing to do since you have all been waiting so long for it. The full collection contains both Divine Wars and Original Generation.

There were so few Koe De Ashigoto returns that we will do that next as we will be destroying the old inventory.

Always the titles I like are the ones no one seems to like. Poor Koe and Juden Chan.
I'll believe it when I see it. After all, it's only been a year...

Update

After a year and a month, at long last, Media Blasters have finally made good on their promise. My replacement disc arrived today in a brand new case even though I originally only sent in just the disc. The new case and artwork are exactly the same as the original. However, the new disc appears to be a DVD-R. But, the important thing is that the issue that caused all of this trouble in the first place has indeed been fixed.

Media Blasters wrote on their Facebook page:
Just so everyone knows the replacement DVDs for both Super Robot Wars and Koe De Ashigoto have shipped. You still have time to send in your bad discs for replacements!
Media Blasters continued their statement in a reply to their own post on Facebook:
PUBLIC APOLOGY....

Hello MB Folks,

Just wanted to say we are sorry about the 2 recent issues with the DVDs. Work had been piling up here with both MB and FD and we went out of house on a couple DVD authoring jobs. It is our fault for not enough QA but we are now taking all the production back in-house and making the correction to SRW Disc 5 and getting rid of the old Koe...

Thank you all for your patience and will try and make sure does not happen again.
Please note: There are no naughty bits in the trailer...
