Blood Lad...
At first glance, Blood Lad seemed a bit silly (perhaps a lot silly), but, I've rarely met a vampire I didn't like, so, I thought I would have a peek at the series...
Blood Lad is an adventure comedy, but, at its core, there is a budding relationship between Staz and Fuyumi. There is some red ink and a bit of gore in the series. While there are no naughty bits, there are some bare breasts without nipples and a couple of bare bottoms. I prefer to read my anime and the subtitles were a bit heavy in Blood Lad, so, I had to use the rewind button on the remote quite a few times to keep up. Be forewarned, events build to a wonderful climax, but, the story is incomplete. Overall, Blood Lad was reasonably entertaining, but, left me hanging in the end. I would give Blood Lad a 2 out of 5.
Werewolves, zombies, and even the Abominable Snowman fight day and night for the title of Territory Boss. The vampire Staz, however, finds the whole thing to be a serious pain. He spends his time watching anime, playing video games, and daydreaming about going to the Human World. That all changes when he meets Fuyumi, a human girl who instantly win's Staz's heart, and who then loses her life to a man-eating plant.
Refusing to give up on the girl of his dreams, Staz travels across the Demon and Human Worlds in search of a way to bring Fuyumi back to life by any bloody means necessary.
Blood Lad tells the story of Staz, the leader of a territory in the demon world, and Fuyumi, a human girl, who somehow appeared in the demon world. Shortly after arriving in the demon world, Fuyumi finds herself on the wrong end of a man-eating plant and Staz, now smitten with Fuyumi, decides to resurrect Fuyumi. Little does Staz know at the outset, that he will need to embark on an epic quest that will take Staz and Fuyumi, who is now a ghost, to the human world and to various realms in the demon world. And, involve numerous battles and a great
deal of demon intrigue as some see Staz's newfound interest in Fuyumi as a weakness to exploit, while others see an opportunity for power in the demon world and would use Fuyumi as a welcome distraction.
