Black Blood Brothers...

With the demise of Geneon/Pioneer, I decided to polish off my Tenchi DVD collection and picked up the second Tenchi movie (Daughter of Darkness) and the Tenchi in Tokyo TV series. I also picked up Black Blood Brothers...
Volume 1
Bad Things
It's been a decade since the sacred war between humans and vampires. The rise of the Kowloon Bloodline, a new breed of monsters bearing an infectious bite, set the streets ablaze under the reign of their king. Humanity had never witnessed such pure, animalistic brutality.

Today, Jiro travels with his younger brother Kotaro to the Special Zone, a place where vampires live freely in peace alongside humans, the troubles of the past long forgotten. But the brothers find themselves in the midst of a battle between human soldiers, vampiric refugees and the re-emergence of the Kowloon Children. Assisted by Mimiko, a negotiator between their species, Jiro will try to make sense of the chaos which surrounds them before they are caught up in it and destroyed. To protect those that he holds dear, the vampire will once more draw forth the Silver Blade.

Volume 2
Emergence
Jiro and Kotaro have finally made it into the Special Zone, but they soon find their welcome less than promising. With his reputation as the hero of the savage wars, the presence of the Silver Sword has raised quite a bit of interest. The Company wonders if he can be recruited, the vampiric leaders ponder his intent even as they test his skills, and every door remains closed to Jiro and his brother. It seems the vampire attracts too much trouble. And the discovery of Kowloon Children behind the barrier may soon prove just how much trouble Jiro can attract.

Volume 3
Resurrection
Grudges are Eternal, but Vengeance comes swift...

Unwelcome and unwanted, Jiro decides to flee the Special Zone with his brother. But Kotaro goes missing and chaos is fast breaking in the city. Cassa’s nefarious plan is revealed at last: To search out the rumored Eleventh Yard under cover of the confusion she created. As infected Kowloon blood spreads throughout the hospitals to spill out into the streets, the Company joins with the vampiric houses in battle against the rising threat. The newly-Kowloon are attacking everyone in sight. Much blood will be spilled this day, for the evil of the past should never be resurrected.
I've rarely met a vampire that I didn't like, so, Black Blood Brothers seemed like an obvious choice. Although, these aren't anime, I'll mention that I did recently pick up the Stingray (Nick Mancuso) boxed set along with two volumes of Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) and a set of Sherlock Holmes movies (Nigel Bruce / Basil Rathbone).
