Baoh...

A while ago, AnimEigo released Baoh...
A secret organization called "Doress" has funded the development of a genetically engineered parasite code-named "Baoh". Organisms infected by Baoh become living survival machines, virtually indestructible, able to mutate their body structure to meet any threat. Properly controlled, the Baoh parasite could allow Doress to control the World.

Unfortunately, their first human guinea pig, a young man named Hashizawa Ikuroo, has managed to escape, along with a young girl, Sumire, who has a strange precognitive gift. Unless Doress operatives can find and destroy Ikuroo before the Baoh parasite fully manifests, their evil dream will come to naught.

But Baoh, comfortably hiding in Ikuroo's brain, won't make it easy.
According to Wikipedia...
Baoh is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The OVA was licensed for an English DVD release by AnimEigo in 2000, it was delayed, finally being released in 2002. Baoh was Araki's first series to display his signature amount of over-the-top gore.
The themes in Baoh are undeniably similar to Guyver. But, whereas Guyver used the tried and tested monster-of-the-week formula, Baoh, had more of a martial arts flavor with characters naming their attacks before striking. There is far more gore and bloodshed in Baoh than there ever was in Guyver. Overall, I enjoyed Baoh. I gave Baoh a 3 out of 5. I used to have it on subtitled VHS version. Even with a fairly good rating, sadly, in the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep it in my archive.
