Angels Of Death...
I waded back into the stream to see Angels Of Death. I couldn't NOT watch it with a title like Angels Of Death...
With psychopaths, deadly traps, and maniacal puzzles scattered throughout the facility, Rachel and Zack must overcome nearly impossible odds in an effort to escape. And, just when you thought it was safe to turn that next corner, someone who was supposed to be safely dead, turns out to very much alive. Even with the copious amounts of blood, Angels Of Death, still leans more heavily towards drama than horror. So, for those you you out there looking for more Corpse Party -- you know who you are -- you'll be disappointed. That being said, Angels Of Death was engaging from beginning to end, but, overall, the series was not as fast-paced as I would have liked. Even so, I enjoyed Angels Of Death quite a lot. I gave Angels Of Death a 4 out of 5.
When Rachel wakes up in the basement of an unfamiliar building, she finds she’s lost all her memory. As she tries to get clear of the basement, she runs into Zack, a scythe-carrying serial killer wrapped from head to toe in bandages. A bizarre promise brings these two together, and they become irreplaceable partners to each other. The journey of life and death begins...It goes without saying that there are buckets of red ink to be found in Angels Of Death. The story centers on Rachel as she finds herself in a mysterious facility without any memory of how she got there. Before too long, Rachel encounters Zack, who promptly endeavors to kill Rachel. After a brief, but, brutal, game of hide and seek, Zack comes to the conclusion, that Rachel is too boring and unemotional to kill. The two make a pact to help each other escape the facility and Rachel has an unusual request for Zack once they escape -- Rachel wants Zack to kill her when they escape. Zack agrees, but, on one condition -- Rachel must smile before her death.
Kill me. Please. While there is plenty of blood including stabbings, slicing and gunshots, there are no naughty bits and very little in the way of fan service. Angels Of Death has some mildly religious undertones with many references to God, Angels, sinners and, of course, the occasional witch-burning, but, throughout the series, there is a continuous undercurrent of malevolence as around every corner, there appear to be unseen eyes watching every move Rachel and Zack make as they try to escape.
