Magical Twilight isn't particularly memorable. The requisite naughty bits are present, but, they're not worth watching. While the premise of Magical Twilight was intriguing, ultimately I was very disappointed with the end result. I used to have the subtitled VHS version of the first volume. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep Magical Twilight in my archive. I gave Magical Twilight a 1 out of 5.
Not since peanut butter met chocolate has there been a combo as eagerly anticipated by male hetero anime fans as this one: the "maho no shojo" or "magical girls" genre gets the "etchi" or softcore anime treatment in a plot about as likely as the power guy "just dropping by to check the meter." (Cue '70s porn music.) Magical witches have to go to Earth to pass their certification exam, and somehow, this ends up involving a competition between two girls to have sex with a young man.
Volume 1
Tachibana Tsukasa's about to take his final exams for the third time, but he's plagued by nightmares of his own impending death. Now three apprentice witches have shown up on his doorstep, all determined to pass their own final exams and Tsukasa's the test subject! Witch number one is Chipple, a sweet and charming white witch whose task is to make Tsukasa like her. Witch number two is Irene, a sultry siren who's convinced that the way to Tsukasa's heart is through the perils of the flesh. Worst of all is Liv, the apprentice black witch, whose assignment is to murder Tsukasa making him suffer first!
Volume 2
A trip to a popular hot springs resort turns into a complete fiasco when Irene and Chipple derail Japan's famous Bullet Train in a "minor" dispute over who's going to take a dip in the hot tub with Chipple's human stud, Tsukasa. Then they wreak total havoc on the unsuspecting health spa. But while Chipple and Irene are getting all steamed up, the lovely owner of the resort starts a steam bath of her own, and her special guest is Tsukasa.
Volume 3
Studly young Tsukasa and winsome witch Chipple are still spending a few stolen moments at the hot springs resort to which Tsukasa won a trip. Unfortunately, it's not much of a vacation for poor Tsukasa when he has to spend all his time guarding his manhood against the advances of several young babes, especially now that the sexy resort owner's equally seductive young daughter has decided to join the game of musical hot tubs. At least over-sexed Irene seems to have found a young mortal who can handle her legendary appetite.
