Servant x Service...
I picked up Servant x Service...
Servant x Service is a nice little slice-of-life situation-comedy about what it might be like to be a civil servant in a fictional Japanese town. Although there is some discussion about Lucy's overly large breasts, there are no naughty bits to speak of and no blood or gore. Nothing extraordinary happens, but, even so, I found much to my amazement that Servant x Service was a very engaging and intriguing comedy. I particularly like the rapport between Lucy and her co-worker, Yutaka.
Yutaka is infamous for being a world-class slacker, but, at the most unexpected moments, he demonstrates an unparalleled, almost super-human aptitude at civil service (i.e.: learning sign language in his spare time because it might be useful when dealing with deaf clients or being able to quote a randomly chosen and obscure civil service rule word for word from memory). Lucy is hard-working and diligent. Yutaka's easy-going style rubs her the wrong way and his occasional teasing doesn't help matters. So, Lucy can be a bit rough around the edges. A humorous scene comes to mind where Lucy is struggling to reach something on a high shelf and Yutaka offers his assistance. Lucy becomes indignant and refuses Yutaka's help, so, Yutaka kindly moves the object of Lucy's attention to an even higher shelf.
I was so engrossed with Servant x Service that I watched the whole series in one sitting. Servant x Service is not for everyone. Nothing spectacular actually happens. Obviously, there are no naughty bits to speak of and no blood or gore. But, even so, I would give Servant x Service a 4 out of 5.
Lucy (abbrev.) Yamagami is a newly-hired civil servant who has been assigned to work in a certain government ward office in a certain city in Hokkaido Prefecture. Not only does Lucy have so many things to learn at her new job, she needs to do all of that in the company of her colleagues, who are all more than a little eccentric. If you thought a job as a government employee was dull, you better think again! Lucy and her colleagues, actively and covertly (?!) serve their community every day!Given the unusual subject matter, it comes as no surprise that my local brick and mortar video store doesn't love me enough to stock this specialty item on its shelves, but, I quickly got over my disappointment and ordered this item from my favorite anime e-tailer.
*This story has no connection to actual public officials.
