Dragon Pink...

Dragon Pink was one of many mildly adult-oriented anime to be released in the U.S. in the early days of the U.S. anime industry...
Volume 1
When slave girl Pink puts on the Cursed Panties of Torajima, she finds herself literally transformed into a sex kitten! Needless to say, the social consequences of having a fur coat permanently attached to your skin can be quite embarrassing, to say nothing of what it does for your sex life! Fortunately for Pink, Santa the swordsman thinks her tail is really cute, and the fact that his girlfriend's a little fuzzy around the edges certainly hasn't caused him to pussyfoot about when it comes to trying to get the cat out of her pajamas! Of course, neither Pink nor Santa will have any kind of life at all unless they can team up with the sultry elven sonnor Santa will have any kind of life at all unless they can team up with the sultry elven sorceress Pias and warrior Bobo to defeat the assorted evil beings that lurk in the heart of Tajif Forest! Join the motliest group of heroes to ever escape from a role playing game as they encounter dragons, serpents, hell-tigers, witches and monster magicians, all of whom intend to rub a certain pussycat the wrong way, permanently! The fur will fly as Pink and her friends claw their way clear of each danger, only to find themselves in worse trouble than before! Will Pink learn if she's really got nine lives the hard way?

Volume 2
Life isn't easy when you've got fuzzy ears and a tail, but if you think slave girl Pink and troubles in her first lust-filled fantasy adventure, DRANK PINK, just wait til you see what she's gotten into in this volume! As usual, poor Pink's having a hard time: not only are her associates, Santa the Swordsman, Pierce the Elf and Bobo the Barbarian still using her as monster bait, they're even using Pink's hard-won jewelry to pay for their food and lodging! And when the jewelry supply runs out, guess who gets left behind as a "security deposit"? Can Santa, Bobo and Pierce trace a monster to its lair and steal its horde of treasure in time to get pink out of hock? Or will our poor cat girl get left holding the bag?

Volume 3
Once again Pink and her fellow rag-tag adventures, Santa the Swordsman, Bobo the Barbarian and Pierce the Elf, find themselves coming up on hard times, and now poor Santa's too pooped to perform. That's bad news for anyone who makes a living with his sword and even worse news for Pink when she and Santa are trapped by the nefarious Nymphomania! Meanwhile, Bobo and Pierce get stuck in a similarly sticky situation, but are bailed out by an unexpected new source for Pierce's magic... as for what that new power source is, we're not saying except to note that she takes it orally!
According to Wikipedia:
  • The character's names are rather obvious puns: Santa, being anything but a saint; "Pierce the Elf" lending itself to a waggish joke; Bobo being a Japanese term for wild and unruly hair (particularly pubic hair); and Pink can be taken as a reference to female genitalia. In the first manga volume, Itoyoko explained through a mini-comic how difficult it was to choose a name for the main character and how she was named Pink after a suggestion of his editor.
  • The demon girl Sina in episode three bears a striking resemblance to the main character Mink from Dragon Half. As it can be seen in the manga, Itoyoko, the author of the Dragon Pink manga, says "Thank you" to Dragon Half's author Ryūsuke Mita for "lending" him the Mink character for that scene.
  • Music throughout the three episodes is borrowed from, and reused in, a variety of other Pink Pineapple releases.
There are some naughty bits in Dragon Pink, but, they're not really worth watching. There's a little bloodshed, but, it's only limited to bad guys, so, it's a good thing. As for the adventures, they're somewhat lame. The story is really just a way of filling up the empty space between naughty bits. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep it in my archive. Although, some would argue that Dragon Pink deserved some consideration as an example of RPG parody with hentai elements, I didn't really enjoy the series and gave Dragon Pink a 1 out of 5. The clip below is family friendly, but, is dubbed in French.
