Ambassador Magma...
Ambassador Magma saw a very early US release on VHS...
I've since heard rumors that Osamu Tezuka's original concept for the anime series was rejected during his lifetime and shelved. I've heard that, later, after his death, the concept was revived. I had Ambassador Magma on subtitled VHS. I wasn't really pleased with the series, so, I gave it a 0 out of 5. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep it in my archive. By the way, Ranger Sombra manages a page on the subject of Ambassador Magma (Portuguese).

Note the shots of Osamu Tezuka's original manga art in the credits.I enjoyed shows like Space Giants and Ultraman, but, for some reason, seeing that type of show in animated form just isn't the same. I should have known that I wasn't going to like this when I first saw it, but, it was one of those days when I couldn't go home without anime. And, at the time, this was new, so, I thought I would give it a try.
