Omamori Himari...
I have a soft spot for cat girls, so, of course, Omamori Himari had to come home with me...
As one would expect, there are copious amounts of over-the-top fan service including scantily clad female demons and humans, suggestive situations, panties galore, bare breasts, bare bottoms, inappropriate fondling and open mouth kissing with saliva. Although there is a lot of skin and some adult situations, there are no actual naughty bits. Also, despite the ample amounts of cleavage on display, there are no nipples. Clearly, with so much over-the-top fan service, the younger anime fans among us should stay away.
Omamori Himari is a mix of the harem and monster-of-the-week genres. Once, Yuuta's harem has reached critical mass, then, of course, things take a slightly darker tone. There is some action in the early episodes, but, in general the series has a somewhat leisurely pace up until the last handful of episodes. Although the latter episodes have a somewhat darker tone, the copious amounts of fan service really keep the overall tone of the series fairly light. There is a little bit of red ink, but, in general, the series is surprisingly bloodless.
Overall, the pace of Omamori Himari is a bit slower than I would have liked, but, it was still entertaining. The fan service can, at times, be a bit of a distraction, but, then, of course, cat girls with weapons cannot be a bad thing. I gave Omamori Himari a 3 out of 5. Please note that you will need to read your anime as Omamori Himari is subtitled only.
Yuuto Amakawa's life goes from ordinary to pawsitively arousing when beautiful demons start showing up! So what's the problem with cat demon Himari Noihara hanging around and on him all the while calling him master? Just the small fact that Yuuto is completely allergic to her!Ever since I saw Nuku Nuku, I've had a soft spot for cat girls. So, of course, Omamori Himari had to come home with me... In Omamori Himari we follow Yuuta, the latest member in a long line of demon slayers, as he tries to find his own unique path in a world of demons and humans. Yuuta, unlike most demon slayers, does not enjoy the idea of killing demons without regard to whether they are good or bad. This sweetness in Yuuta endears him to both humans and demons and in fairly short order Yuuta builds an impressive harem of naughty-minded demons and humans.
Unfortunately, he'll have to suffer in silence, as Himari is dead set on sticking by his side in order to protect him from the Ayakashi demons hell-bent on seeking revenge against demon slayers. And it's just Yuuto's luck that he is the only remaining descendant of the Amakawa family, one of twelve demon slayer families who fought and killed Ayakashi for hundreds of years. Yuuto would prefer to keep the peace, but he may not have a choice to stay out of this long-running war.
Between the cat girl, sensual water deities, and boisterous demons galore, Yuuto will have to do all he can to stay abreast of everything happening around him. More importantly, he'll have to find the power that dwells deep inside him. That is, if he can survive the jealous beauties that are vying for his attention!
