Hells...
Recently, I saw Hells...
Rinne Amagane's first day at school really isn't working out. The other girls are ghoulish, the teachers are terrifying, and the headmaster is hellvis. No really, he's a demon in tight pants with a lust for rock 'n' roll! Nestled in the heart of Destinyland, the Sanzu River Academy might sound like fun... but it's literally Hell. And the worst part is Rinne's not dead! Or so she thinks. As she Scrambles to get back home to her mama, Rinne meets other humans like her who aren't dead yet, and then finds out that Hell itself is all topsy-turvy. And the reason why starts with the very first humans on Earth! Don't worry, though; so long as you have spirit, anything is possible!Hells follows the exploits of Rime, an average teenage girl, as she unwittingly wanders into the underworld and must contend with high school for the dead. Hells has a manic energy and a rather loose drawing style reminiscent of Dead Leaves. At first, Rime is the quintessential fish out of water, but, she quickly manifests an inner strength and begins to rally her dead classmates as she seeks to discover the truth behind the underworld academy and find a way back to her home. There are no naughty bits, but, there is a tiny bit of red ink -- that's how the dead discover that Rime isn't dead. Hells was fast-paced and engaging. Overall, I liked Hells a lot. I gave Hells a 4 out of 5.
