Bayonetta...

Recently, I watched Bayonetta...
Twenty years after her awakening, Bayonetta is still searching for clues that could help unravel the mysteries of her dark past. Aided in her quest by the clandestine weapon smith Rodin - and his deadly creations: Scarborough Fair - Bayonetta continues to leave a trail of angel corpses in her wake. Her search for answers leads to encounters with a mysterious - and eerily familiar - little girl, a vengeance-obsessed journalist, and a deadly white-haired beauty that seems to know more about Bayonetta than the witch herself.
According to Wikipedia...
For the English-localized version of the film, FUNimation Entertainment contacted Jonathan Klein and Los Angeles-based New Generation Pictures to handle the production and requested that as many video game cast members as possible reprise their roles. Since Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor had relocated back to the UK, Klein recorded her voice separately at The Egg Recording Studio located at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England.
I had heard of Bayonetta and looked forward to seeing it. The story centers around a conflict between angels and witches and a prophecy that foretells of a coming calamity with our heroine at the center of everything. Although Bayonetta is based on a video game, it managed to not feel like watching a video game. There is quite a bit of action, but, even with all of the angel-smashing and slicing, there isn't much red ink on display.

Fan service abounds in Bayonetta, as our heroine tends to wear rather skimpy and revealing attire and is eager to flirt with her cohorts. There are a handful of bare bottoms, but, due to strategically placed hair or bits of fabric, there are no nipples or full-frontal nudity to be found. The feature starts out reasonably well, but, is a bit slow in the middle. The pace picks up again near the end and the ending itself is very over-the-top. Overall, the feature is reasonably entertaining. I would give Bayonetta a 3 out of 5.
