Attack On Titan...
I've seen the entire first season and some of the second season of Attack On Titan on Cartoon Network...
I was impressed enough with the series as a whole, that I purchased the entire first season, but, after a while, I lost interest in the series. Now, my niece and nephew are thoroughly hooked on the series and are eagerly awaiting the U.S. release of the third season. There is also, apparently, a comedy-themed spin-off of Attack On Titan that envisions all of the main characters in a junior high school setting. There are even a handful of movies and a live-action feature. Overall, I enjoyed Attack On Titan, but, after the first season, I lost interest in the series. I would give Attack On Titan a 3 out of 5.
Season 1Attack On Titan centers on giant people-munching monsters called Titans and the elite force of soldiers that protect humanity from the Titans. There is quite a bit of red ink as, obviously, people are being eaten. Although, the Titans are naked, the character design obscures things like nipples on the female Titans. Attack On Titan is a mix of action/adventure, politics and teen angst. The stories within the series revolve around love, loss, friendship and betrayal. I've seen the entire first season and some of the second season on Cartoon Network. And, I've seen enough of the series dubbed, that, in my humble opinion, the dubbed version compares rather favorably with the subtitled version.
When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother.
He vows to kill every Titan walking the earth.
Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there's more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity's last hope against extinction. From the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead comes the series Anime News Network calls "an intense, visceral, and graphic thrill ride." The Titans have come to feast. Anything can happen. No one is safe.
Season 2
Eren’s battle against the Titans rages on! After fighting the Female Titan, he has no time to rest as a hoard approaches Wall Rose. A new war begins and as they face the threat to humanity, they begin to unearth terrifying secrets. What are the Titans really and where do they get their power—and who’s really on their side?
Season 3
The truth about the Titans begins to come to light. Political secrets, a false king, and the reality that will shake the foundation of the world—all falls on the shoulders of Eren and his friends, as they fight to survive. With Historia set to be the rightful Queen, the Levi Squad must act. But a figure from Levi’s past, the deadly Kenny, could turn this into a losing battle. Are Eren and his friends prepared to face the true monsters that lie within the walls?
