Queen's Blade...
I picked up Queen's Blade recently...
I've seen Queen's Blade and I'm really very pleased with the series. The animation quality is fairly good and the story is very entertaining. Women in skimpy armor abound. The show is a bit on the risque side, so, the younger anime fans among us, will have to stay away. Overall, the series has been a treat to watch. I gave Queen's Blade a 4 out of 5.
Series 1According to AnimeNation...
Volume 1
A Single Step
In a land where a queen is chosen every few years solely by winning a tournament, there can be no short supply of formidable opponents. For one woman warrior however, an early defeat clearly shows her that she is lacking in experience though she may be bountiful in body.
Fortunately, while defeat could spell one's doom, her life is saved by a powerful stranger. But unfortunately for this savior, less-than-pure motives and shrewd family members mean her reward is a prison cell. Her release is prompt when the unseasoned warrior she saved, tired of her current lifestyle of nobility, sets off to prove herself.
Volume 2
The Beaten Path
After her plummet into the raging waters below, Leina's whereabouts remain a mystery to the direct witnesses of the tragedy. At the same time, Tomoe stumbles upon a pyramid belonging to Menace, an ancient queen with a familiar face serving her. The tide then flows to a young forest keeper as she attempts to protect nature from a sinister threat.
Meanwhile, swirling overhead, Nanael is sent by the heavens to investigate a stirring evil. After a little tit for tat, her lackadaisical completion of the task grants her a creamy white disciplinary task and a new mission of a more earthly nature.
Volume 3
Journey's End
Leina has been training with Echidna for the Queen's Blade tournament. But when it comes time for her first real fight, her target is her friend Risty! Determined to prove her worth as an equal, Leina goes all out, but Claudette gets to Risty first. Meanwhile, Menace, Airi, and Melona lead the Swamp Witch's minions in a full-scale attack on the Queen's Gates. It's up to Leina, Tomoe, Nowa, and the others to defeat the evil forces and gain entrance to the final rounds of the Queen's Blade!
Series 2
The Evil Eye
Volume 1
Leina, Tomoe, and the rest of the finalists for the Queen's Blade Tournament take up residence in Gynos, the Queen's Capital. Each of the girls is paired up in a duel, and best friends are forced to fight each other with their lives on the line. A new contender appears: Nyx, a master of fire magic, is a former servant of the Vance family with a burning grudge. And Queen Aldra has revealed her new right hand and leader of the Fang Assassins: Risty!
Volume 2
The end of the Queen's Blade tournament has come, and only the strongest remain. Everything comes down to the final match-ups. Tomoe fights Shizuka, and Leina fights Risty. Aldra waits to challenge the final winner personally with her inhuman powers. When the smoke clears, who will be crowned queen?
