Beautiful Bones: Sakurako's Investigation...

Image
Beautiful Bones  has the feel of  Sherlock Holmes  with Sakurako Kujo playing the part of the iconic detective and Shotaro Tatewaki playing the part of the detective's partner... Shotaro Tatewaki knows that Sakurako Kujo isn't a normal person. After all, most young women have multiple interests revolving around things like work, fashion, and sports, but Sakurako is fixated on just one thing: bones. While she already has a huge collection of them, mostly animal, she's always trying to gather more, especially those of the human variety. This can be quite a problem for Shotaro: especially since he and Sakurako have a positively unnatural aptitude for discovering dead bodies together. Fortunately, Sakurako is a naturally brilliant detective who unearths the mystery of what happened to the owners of those bones, but it's up to Shotaro to make apologies for Sakurako's odd quirks and tendency to make off with the evidence. It's a grave business that can leave h

New Blogger Templates...

Image
Yesterday, I received a notification that Blogger has new templates. The new templates have the more responsive feel of the dynamic templates without some of the limitations of the dynamic templates. I tried a variety of different templates and settled on one of the Contempo themes. Out of the box, the new themes have some nice features like a popup sidebar menu, a floating title bar, a featured post gadget and a popular post gadget. They have a clean minimalist feel that apparently works on the small screen as well as on the big screen. It remains to be seen, but, that, at least, is the claim. There were some issues settling into the new template, but, I can live with the new design. My legacy site had a custom title image. The new template offers the ability to change the bsckground of the top half of the page and also to add a custom image to the title area. However, I wanted to apply my header image to the floating header bar. So, I had to add some custom CSS to the advanced se

Amagi Brilliant Park...

Image
The subject matter in  Amagi Brilliant Park  is a bit unusual, so, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect... When new transfer student Isuzu asks Seiya Kanie out on a date at gunpoint, he knows something odd is going on. Especially since she wants to go to Amagi Brilliant Park, where the rides are either dangerous or mind-numbingly dull and the only costumed performers who aren't rude or apathetic are the ones who didn't show up for work. So when Isuzu asks Seiya to take over as the park's new manager, he knows she's crazy. (Well, crazy-er, given the gunpoint thing.) But when Seiya learns that Amagi Brilliant Park is a REAL Magic Kingdom, that the costumed performers aren't wearing costumes, that they live off the energy created by attendees, and that unless they can attract 250,000 attendees in three months, they'll lose their jobs and homes... he goes a little crazy himself. But, even with the aid of scantily clad fairies, giant mice and sniper-trained sh

Triage X...

Image
In  Triage X , we have girls, guns, action and lots of bare breasts and some bare bottoms and all of it in a medical theme... Our society is infected with a disease, a gangrenous cancer in the form of those who commit the most monstrous of evils, yet whose power and influence place them beyond the reach of the law. When corrupt politicians fail to act and the police seem helpless, there is a third, secret option that stands ready to excise the malignancy in a tactical surgical strike: Black Label, a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and students who moonlight as an elite team of assassins. With the world's deadliest nurse, a master swordswoman MD, an idol with an affinity for explosives, and a pair of seemingly indestructible high school students, their mission is as simple as it is deadly: identify the drug runners, terrorists, and criminal masterminds who can't be destroyed any other way, and then eliminate them by whatever means necessary in TRIAGE X! In Triage X , fol

Deadman Wonderland...

I've seen a handful of episodes on Cartoon Network and decided to pick up Deadman Wonderland ... Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He's framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. Then it gets worse. At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal deathmatches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope - until he discovers a strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. He's determined to see justice served - but first he'll have to fight for his life in a prison that holds a million ways to die. Deadman Wonderland fo

Tired of this lame excuse, his sister gets him a job doing something he'd never expect teaching! Teaching is the last thing Kagami yearns to do, at least until he comes across the various problems his students face outside of the classroom. Between their quirky dreams, serious attitude problems, and surprising secrets, Junich

Busou Shinki: Armored War Goddess...

Image
In Busou Shinki: Armored War Goddess , we observe the adventures of tiny 6-inch robots as they battle each other and serve their masters... Some guys wait their entire life to meet the girl of their dreams, but high school freshman Rihito is already living with four of them! And they're (almost) always ready and willing to help him with whatever difficult task their "Master" needs to be handled. So, how did Rihito get to be so lucky? Well, while Hina, Ann, Ines and Rene may not be exactly high maintenance, Rihito does have to make sure that they're lubricated regularly and their batteries are recharged. That's because they're Shinki: tiny, six-inch high, customizable androids. But don't let their tiny size fool you. These little ladies have more than full-size intelligence and emotions, and since each one would prefer to be Rihito's favorite, there's sure to be a little mechanical friction! Get ready for sparks to fly as these battery powered p

God Eater...

Image
Years ago, in 2011, I was introduced to the God Eater franchise via a 12-minute promotional trailer for the video game,  God Eater Burst ... Volume 1 In the early 2050s, unknown life forms called "Oracle Cells" began their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth. Their ravenous appetite and remarkable adaptability earned them first dread, then awe, and finally the name Aragami, the "Mad Gods". In the face of an enemy completely immune to conventional weapons, urban civilization collapsed, and each day humanity was driven further and further toward extinction. The year is now 2071... the domain of the mad gods lies here in the Far East. One single ray of hope remains for humanity. Following the development of "God Arcs" -- living weapons which incorporate Oracle Cells -- their wielders are organized into an elite force. In a world ravaged by mad gods, these "God Eaters" fight a desperate war... Based on the hit videogame series b
