Angel Beats...

Image
Angel Beats!  follows our hero, Otonashi, a boy who has lost his memories of his life after dying... It sucks being dead. It sucks even more to be trapped in a surreal afterlife where you're caught between the living and the dead - where a mysterious, violent Angel is trying to pull you over to... somewhere. What do you do? Well, if you're this group of rough-and-tumble teens, you grab every weapon you can get your hands on and give Heaven hell! In  Angel Beats! , Otonashi, meets Yuri, a girl who invites him to join the Afterlife Battlefront, an organization she founded and leads, which fights against Angel, a girl with supernatural powers provided by a computer program called Angel Player. Initially, some of the details about the situation that our heroes find themselves in, are somewhat ambiguous. After a while, we find that the school setting is a limbo where young people go to come to terms with unresolved issues in their previous lives, before being allowed to move on

Coffee Samurai and Hoshizora Kiseki...

Image
I picked up the latest Feature Squared release of  Coffee Samurai and Hoshizora Kiseki ... Coffee Samurai For Hemi, a boyfriend in a protective suit would be an easy thing to deal with compared to her own problem: she's in love with a Coffee Vending machine! Of course, it all makes perfect sense once you realize that he's actually an ancient Samurai who wished to be reborn into an indestructible steel body. But it certainly makes the dates uncomfortable and somewhat prone to scalding! Hoshizora Kiseki (Starry-Sky Miracle) Kozue, a young girl who loves astronomy, encounters Ginga, a boy with a mysterious ability to understand the stars that is being exploited by others. As her friendship with Ginga grows, Kozue realizes that she must help him learn to make his own decisions, but that do that, he must remove the protective suit he always wears. These two stories both center on love and are both quite sweet. Coffee Samurai is a bit more sweet than  Hoshizora Kiseki (Star

Wallpapers Have Moved...

Image
After many years, I have moved the wallpapers from a post, originally dated in 2005, to a dedicated page . I spent some time checking each wallpaper to see where else in the world my wallpapers appear. A review of back links and hot links indicated that there were only a handful of pages in the world that might be affected. Moving the wallpaper post to its own dedicated page would break the connection to the date of the initial post, but, more importantly, it would allow me to take advantage of the page link tab widget. To my pleasant surprise, a handful of my wallpapers do appear elsewhere -- mostly at wallpaper aggregating sites, but, also in a handful of forums and personal sites. Lucy from Elfen Lied seems to be the most popular of my wallpapers. For a while Alias of Westgate from the Forgotten Realms book Azure Bonds , was a close second, but, Alias' wallpaper seems to have faded in popularity over the years. The Saikano wallpaper based on the cover art from an earlier

Blood Blockade Battlefront...

Image
When I saw previews for  Blood Blockade Battlefront , I suspected that it was something that I might like... Produced by Studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Space Dandy, Soul Eater) and created by Trigun writer Yasuhiro Nightow, Blood Blockade Battlefront brings compelling characters and dynamic plotlines together for one unforgettable adventure. After a breach between Earth and the netherworld opens up over New York, humans and creatures from other dimensions become trapped in an impenetrable bubble that surrounds the city. Forced to coexist in a new city known as Salem’s Lot, the shaky peace between humanity and the netherworld creatures is protected by an underground group of super humans known as Libra. When a case of mistaken identity brings not-so-ordinary delivery boy Leonardo Watch face-to-face with this group, he joins their ranks hoping to help prevent the destruction of the world by a group of monsters and madmen lead by a powerful being known as the King of Despair.
