La Blue Girl...

Sometime before its initial U.S. release, I had heard whispers of La Blue Girl...
Volume 1
It began centuries ago, when a ninja clan made a deal with the forces of the underworld which led to centuries of struggle between rival clans. And now, after more than 600 years of peace, the denizens of the underworld are about to get a new boss.

Miko Mido, a ninja-in-training, is suddenly entrusted with the family business: making sure the sex-starved Shikima stay out of humanity's way. But when the rival Suzuka clan steals the signet case that symbolizes this demonic deal, Miko and her sister Miyu become targets of the most dangerous race of perverts to ever walk the earth.

What's a girl to do? Fight back, with every bit of battle skill and sexual sorcery she can muster. But is she strong enough to save Miyu from the clutches of the Shikima in the bowels of the underworld itself?

Volume 2
The struggle for power over the world of the Shikima boils over, as Miko, the Suzuka clan, and even renegade Shikima race to gain control of the Mido family's signet case. When the Mido girls and their faithful (though slightly frustrated) ninja sidekick Nin-Nin return to the underworld to investigate Miyu's odd sense of deja vu, they're caught up in the crossfire as the Suzuka clan attacks!

Before you know it, it's a veritable sexual endurance test to see who can get the case. But just when things are looking up for our much put-upon heroine, she's in for a few shocks! Who's this woman that Miyu claims is their mother? And if she is, then where's dear old dad?

Volume 3
Now that the Shikima Lord has ordered his demonic subjects to cease their attacks, 18-year-old Miko Mido is free to continue her ninja training. But where does a ninja-in-training go to become a traveling warrior?? With a little guidance from the "Great Beyond," Miko travels to the secret village of the Miroku clan.

But danger and adventure await our half-demon heroine! When Miko finds the Miroku village in ruins, she vows to hunt down the traitorous Kamiri and her lover Kugutsumen, a renegade of the treacherous Suzuka clan. In addition, Miko must recover the Miroku's greatest treasure - the enchanted sword Zipang. The stakes are high, with control of the ninja clans - and the life of Miko's father - hanging in the balance.

But Miko's previous exploits against the Shikima and the Suzuka clan never prepared her for a couple as deadly as Kamiri - Master of the Miroku Sex Craft, and Kugutsumen - Man of a Thousand Faces! With the aid of 18-year-old Yaku, the village's sole survivor, Miko might just stand a chance....

Volume 4
With the narrow escape from Kamiri and Kugutsumen's fiendish trap still fresh in their minds, Miko and Yaku continue to search for their slippery foes. When a small village in the country suffers a rash of mysterious rapes, the two ninja girls have a new target for their search.

But this time, their opponents get the drop on them, and before long the two girls are fighting for their lives - and not even Kugutsumen knows what awaits them in the final showdown! As Kamiri succumbs to the power of the magic sword, Zipang, Kugutsumen manages to take control of Miko for his most diabolical plan yet - to have her murder her new friend!

Is Miko strong enough to break his hold on her before she kills Yaku? And even if she does, will she able to control the dark force lurking within Zipang? Get ready for the latest hair-raising adventure of the Miroku ninja sex-warrior!

Volume 5
Summers over and school's back in session for Miko. Maybe now she can forget about being the Miroku clan's chosen warrior and get back to trying to have a normal life - for a change. Sorry Miko, but being a half-demon, ninja sex-warrior means trouble all year around!

This time, the trouble is the new girl who's recently transferred into Miko's school - Fubuki Kai. Pretty and popular, she doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary. But Fubuki is a trained ninja as well, maybe even as good as Miko, herself! And she intends to gain access to the Shikima realm and become its new ruler!

The problem is that she doesn't know how the Miroku clan gains entry to the underworld - the only one who knows that is Miko. So far, no one has managed to get her to give away that secret, but Fubuki has a few tricks up her... sleeve! Hang on tight as the battle to control the Shikima once again comes to the underworld!

Volume 6
Our half-demon heroine returns to the human world, leaving Fubuki and Nin-Nin behind in the underworld for a little extra duty. But when Miko's dreams are invaded by visions of terrifying bio-mechanical monstrosities, she finds herself caught up in the latest attempt to gain control of the underworld!

At school, her classmates are kidnapped by creatures straight out of her nightmares. And when Nin-Nin and Fubuki show up to fight them, Miko learns the awful truth: Her mother's been kidnapped and her father is dying - both victims of a plot to invade the underworld from another, even more bizarre realm.

Now its up to Miko, Nin-Nin, and Fubuki to find out who's behind this attack and stop them before it's too late. But can Miko save her mother, her father, her friends, AND still save herself?
According to Wikipedia...
While not featuring the censoring mosaics of the original Japanese version, the US release of La Blue Girl was edited during the initial VHS release and all scenes featuring Miko's companion Nin-Nin engaged in a sexual act were removed, probably to avoid the charge of pedophilia. For similar reasons the age of the heroine was also altered: initially stated to be a 16-year-old high-schooler in the original Japanese version, she is an 18-year-old college student in the US version. The various US DVD releases contain this edited version.
La Blue Girl has demons and virgins... need I say more? Follow the continuing adventures of ninja sex-warrior Miko Mido as she battles demons, monsters, and yes, lots of tentacles... La Blue Girl is better than most titles with similar story lines (i.e.: Twin Dolls). I used to have the first two subtitled VHS volumes. I gave La Blue Girl a 3 out of 5. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep La Blue Girl in my archive.
