Yotoden...

Way back in the misty dawn of time, when VCRs still stalked the Earth, I picked up the VHS version of Yotoden...

Chronicle of the Ninja
Volume 1

Narrowly escaping the slaughter of her clan, a young ninja steals into the shadows, bearing an heirloom blade with mysterious powers. According to The Prophesy of the Enchanted Swords - Yotoden - the only hope of vanquishing the evil lies in uniting these weapons. Adopting the masculine name, Ayanosuke, she is joined by Sakon and Ryoma, renegade ninja who had escaped the destruction of their clans - and the possessors of the sacred sword and spear. Volume 3
The three shadow-ninja must unite one, final time before the Demon Prince can open a gate to the Kingdom of Darkness and unleash the minions of Hell. Will they be able to close the gate and fulfill the ancient prophesy of Yotoden or will they die trying?
Yotoden is essentially another one of those feudal era ninja epics that really don't appeal to me. I used to have it on subtitled VHS. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep it in my archive. I gave Yotoden a 1 out of 5.
