With Go Nagai's name on the box, of course, I picked up the VHS version of Kekko Kamen...

Kekko Kamen is a comedy by Go Nagai, set in the typical school from hell. Kekko Kamen isn't really hentai, but, it sits pretty close to the edge of being very inappropriate complete with tentacles, torn panties and whips. There are some bare breasts and bare bottoms, but, despite its reputation to the contrary, there are no actual naughty bits. Of course, a large part of the fun of Kekko Kamen is being quite risque with humor, wit and a bit of adventure. Given the tone of Kekko Kamen, the younger anime fans among us should probably stay away. I used to have the subtitled VHS version and I enjoyed the series so much that I repurchased it on DVD. I gave Kekko Kamen a 4 out of 5.
I also have the live-action Kekko Kamen movie on DVD. Be aware that with the live-action movie, while there is some skin shown in the feature, because of careful camera placement and strategic use of tassels on Kekko's costume, there are no nipples or navels showing.

Kekko Kamen (Exact Eng. trans. very complex: KAMEN means "masked" and KEKKO is a phrase which can infer "I got lucky today!"). The title is a pun on the renowned sixties live-action TV show Gekko Kamen or Moonlight Mask. In the same year Go Nagai also directed and wrote a live-action version of Kekko Kamen, 60 mins. long, starring Chris Aoki, Playmate Japan 1990.
