Cowboy Bebop...
Years ago, I picked up the VHS version of Cowboy Bebop...
I used to have the first two volumes on VHS and after seeing the remaining episodes on Cartoon Network, I decided to repurchase those volumes as well as the remainder of the series on DVD. I also have the movie on DVD. Of all the characters in the series, I like Ed and Faye best. My favorite episode is when Ed and Ein's search for food turns up mushrooms.
Session 1Jet and Spike are travelers and bounty hunters looking for the next big score. They travel from place to place and find all sorts of trouble, but, they can't seem to keep their heads above water. This series has a style that is reminiscent of a western. I've been warned that there might be a problem with the ending. But, after seeing the ending, I find that it is not as unsatisfying as the original ending to Neon Genesis Evangelion. I gave Cowboy Bebop a 2 out of 5. Even though Cowboy Bebop didn't get a better rating, I still don't mind catching reruns of the series on Cartoon Network.
The year 2071 A.D. That future is now. Driven out of their terrestrial Eden, humanity chose the stars as the final frontier. With the section-by-section collapse of the former nations a mixed jumble of races and peoples came. They spread to the stars, taking with them the now confused concepts of freedom, violence, illegality and love, where new rules and a new generation of outlaws came into being. People referred to them as Cowboy Bebops... Meet Spike and Jet, a drifter and a retired cyborg cop who have started a bounty hunting operation. In the converted ship The Bebop, Spike and Jet search the galaxy for criminals with bounties on their heads. They meet a lot of unusual characters, including the unusually intelligent dog, Ein, and the voluptuous and vexing femme fatale, Faye Valentine. See why Cowboy Bebop was Japan's best-selling anime title in 1998.
Session 2
Spike and Vicious conclude their reunion with a deadly duel. And after that, more mayhem and hilarity await as the crew of the Bebop continues to try and make a living as bounty hunters. As they travel, they will meet up with a feisty space trucker, make a stop on Venus, and meet up with the great hacker Ed.
Session 3
First, the crew must fight against a strange organism that's boarded the Bebop. Surviving that, they move on to find their lost cash, and Spike begins the search for the missing Julia. But it turns out that his old enemy Vicious is involved. Finally, they must solve the mystery of a high-tech crime that seems to have been perpetrated by a ghost.
Session 4
The crew of the Bebop unravels more mysteries in their quest for making a living. Faye and Jet learn that the past isn't always what you remember, and Ed and Ein strike out on their own in one of the funniest adventures yet.
Session 5
Follow the adventures of Spike, Faye, Jet, Ed, and Ein as they continue their endless search for cash. Along the way, tragedy and triumph await as they navigate their way through the dangers of space and corridors of memory. The hottest anime show only gets hotter as it draws towards its end.
Session 6
The shocking conclusion! How will it all end? After a long list of adventures, what will finally become of the Bebop and her crew? Will Faye finally discover the truth about her past? Will Ed return to being a "normal" kid? And what of Spike, Vicious, and Julia -- this triangle is destined to be resolved. Don't miss the last stunning episode of one of the greatest anime series of all time!
Movie: Knocking On Heaven's Door
Mars. Days before Halloween 2071. Villains blow up a tanker truck on Highway One, releasing a deadly virus that kills hundreds. Fearing a bigger, even more devastating biochemical attack, an astronomical reward is offered for the arrest and capture of the person behind the destruction. On the spaceship "Bebop," Spike Spiegel and his crew of bounty hunters (Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed, and Ein) are bored and short of cash. But with the news of the reward everything changes.
