Do It Yourself...

I watched Do It Yourself...
Building furniture and friendships have a lot in common. Intention, effort, and hard work are needed for both crafts. This is a story of girls in a DIY club building both as they carve out their futures. None of it comes easy, but that doesn't stop any of 'em. Furniture, friendships, and the future--they're building it all with their own hands!
Do It Yourself revolves around a small group of friends who are part of a DIY club. Rei, the head of the DIY club, starts the series with unhappy news, the club doesn't have enough members to continue. One day, Rei encounters Serufu after a biking accident and helps to repair her bike. During the course of conversation, Rei invites Serufu to join the DIY club. Serufu brings her best friend, Purin and her other friend Takumi. Then, Juliet barges into Purin's life and Purin's friend Kokoro shows up for good measure.

The group comes together to work on various small projects and learn a few things about arts, crafts and carpentry. The DIY club still needs new members to survive, so, they decide on a larger project to promote the DIY club and begin the process of gathering the required materials. During the course of the series, there are mishaps, but, in the end, lasting friendships are formed. There are no naughty bits. Although, there are plenty of band aids awarded, there is no red ink. Do It Yourself is just as syrupy sweet as you could want and I gave it a 4 out of 5.
